Carnegie nominations for 2015
Book Club Author Visit
On November 5th the Book Club visited Parmiters School to listen to the author Andy McNab, Caius wrote "Here it was, the second thrilling book club trip of the year.......Andy McNab shocked us with his inner knowledge and life story. After a childhood of criminal behaviour he changed his ways after going to juvenile detention. Soldiers visited the centre and recruited ... as a soldier he learned how to read.
Later, after working his way up the ranks, he wrote stories about his time as a soldier. These books are well known around the world and are an inspiration to us all.
He quit the secret service to become a full time writer, and not only taught us about the army, but also taught us about changing our ways...
To summarise, Andy McNab is fantastic, and an inspiration to us all."
