Red House Book Award 2011

Three Year 7 pupils were out of school on Wednesday morning to visit the Library at Nicholas Breakspear School. They were there with students from Parmiters, St Columba's, Sandringham and Simon Balle, to discuss the short listed books, and vote for their favourite. The local winner was Timeriders by Alex Scarrow.
After the voting there was a talk about ghost stories from author Cliff McNish. If you like to be scared, read his book Breathe! His new book the Hunting Ground has just arrived in the library and is available to anyone brave enough to borrow it and write a review.

If you are wondering what to read next, you will find lots of ideas on this new website created by the  Guardian newspaper. You will find reviews, quizzes, interviews with authors and links to podcasts and videos. Let me know if there are books you would like to recommend for the library. I am buying new books now so don't delay! You can look at the website here.
